Sims 4 Let’s Play: The Hoskins Family
The Hoskins are probably the most normal family I have across all of my let’s play (LP) storylines. Theirs is a story of different cultures and backgrounds coming together to make the best family dynamic possible.
It all began with Kyla Hoskins (nee Williamson). She was a sugar baby with her bestie, Azure. Both had hard lives, but as beautiful Black Sims they knew they had that it factor. Scamming old sugar daddies out of their credit cards and shit for a little play time was nothing to Kyla and Azure. That is until Kyla found herself pregnant by one of her sugar daddies, Veer.
Thinking that all Sims living in San Sequoia have buttloads of money, Kyla believed she’d hit the jackpot when she prepared herself to share the news with Veer. Azure knew better, but didn’t really tell her friend the tea. Turns out Veer had no money, because everything was tied up with his wife — the real breadwinner of the two. With her pregnancy too far along for an oopsie clinic visit, Kyla went ahead with bringing into the world her first born child, Malaysia Williamson.
Malaysia was born diabetic and also seemed to have some developmental issues as she grew. Kyla continued trying to sugar baby, but needed something more stable so she turned to online teaching here and there. Azure was able to land a real rich sigga over in Copperdale, so she ended up moving out and leaving Kyla to fend for herself with a new baby. Lonely and unsure if she should go back to her hood ways, gained from life in East Los Santos area of San Sequoia, Kyla began to talk to men on SimDa dating app. One white dude, Orson Hoskins, stood out. He had the build she like, but he was definitely corny.
After a few hookups, Kyla and Orson had a good FWB going. Every time he came over he would also take care of her baby, Malaysia. Seeing how loving and caring he was with a baby that wasn’t even his, Kyla knew she had to lock Orson down before some undeserving pastey Townie snagged him. And so, their beautiful love story became official and soon came along their first child together, Keisha Hoskins. With a growing family, Kyla and Orson put their heads together on how to ensure their kids never have want for anything. Kyla convinced him to start selling coke via the dark web. Big mistake!
The Feds came down hard on Orson, but really they didn’t cause white Sims tend to get away with crimes in Sim world. The court case went quickly, and Orson was sentenced to 3 Sim days in prison for a misdemeanor charge. While he was away, Kyla continued online teaching and little Malaysia aged into a 16 year old with a big attitude problem and a penchant for loser little boys. Baby Keisha was a happy little baby, but without her daddy around Kyla felt stress keeping tabs on them both. Once Orson cam home from prison, he vowed to give up slanging coke. He took up a freelance chef career because he’d been the more domestic one in the household since shacking up with Kyla. They even got married down at the courthouse when he came home from prison. But the money wasn’t the same.
Kyla and Orson put their heads together and realized his untapped market for coke was his white Sim and well-too-do friends. So another rack of coke was procured from the dark web, and instead of shipping anything through the mail like last time, Orson started having Cookouts for Cokeheads at their home. With a decent sized yard, the Hoskins had a hit on their hands! The coke was flowing and so were the BBQ ribs, chicken, and more when Orson threw down on the grille. It was like this man had been Black all a long, but really the influence of his Black wife was rubbing off on him hard. No other woman before Kyla had held Orson down this way and he was eternally grateful.
The more coke sold, the more money came in. The family grew again when Kyla had a successful rainbow baby, Olivier, following the unfortunate loss of twins from her fibromyalgia. Orson and Kyla decided then it was best to move to Newcrest to raise their family and continue expanding Orson’s coke business to other markets. Malaysia was doing OK in high school, but her developmental issues had progressed to clinical depression as she struggled with how much Orson loved Keisha, her half-sister, while seeing her bio dad, Veer, rarely even show up for a birthday. Keisha was blossoming as a toddler with her stay-at-home father Orson and a mildly present mom, Kyla. Kyla was too busy trying to find something of her own to be a boss bitch like she’d felt she was back in her sugar baby days.
Moving to Newcrest, presented her with the opportunity to open up her first strip club: The Romper Roo. Orson was beyond supportive and began to handle even more shady actions to support his family, as well as defend them. Being a head coke dealer with prime connect in Selvardardo, meant many burglars tried to rob the family home often. Together, Kyla and Orson would unalive people and do away with their bodies. A true Bonnie & Clyde, minus the dying at the end. Malaysia worsened mentally as she turned 18 and tried to go off to college. She developed a drug habit and was addicted to Xanax and Adderall following the forced adoption of her son, Santigao Jr. His father, Malaysia’s rude and verbally abusive drug dealing ex-boyfriend, Santiago, was not fit to take him either. Her parents paid for rehab and tried to encourage her to become an entrepreneur like them. Baby Olivier was growing up with very active parents compared to his two sibilings, but Keisha was also coming into her own with a biggest attitude ever. A beautiful Black girl with a fro, Keisha knew she was the shit.
Olivier, however, was also exposed to more violence than his two siblings had seen from the activities of his parents’ protecting their drug business. He developed his own twisted interest in murder, and committed his first in the family home after Keisha’s friend from school kicked at Pickles, the family dog. No one knew it was Olivier, but Kyla and Orson did away with the body. As The Romper Roo and Cookout for Cokeheads continued to prosper, more haters came out of the woodworks. An arsonist tried to take out the Hoskins and that’s when Kyla and Orson made the decision to move again to a 3-story home in a safer area of Newcrest. The move meant more money, hand over fist, and a second strip club for Kyla called The Romper Roo II.
What could go wrong for The Hoskins with all this wonderful, albeit, criminally active success coming their way?
