Sims 4 Let’s Play: Out to Pasture Nursing Home
Out to Pasture Nursing Home is all about taking care of your elderly Sims. Unfortunately, the families who leave their elders in my Simself’s care as the director of Out to Pasture don’t know their loved ones are scammed out of social security checks and more at this home. This is a bi-weekly Let’s Play (LP) with a lot of laughs and dying.
When Ms. Brittinee set out to find a job post pandemic, she didn’t expect that she’d have to look after a bunch of elderly Sims. But the Brindleton Bay government offered geriatric millennials like her a chance to move into a thriving world with no cost to themselves. All she had to do was agree to run the government owned nursing home near the lighthouse. With free room and board, plus a little salary, what could Ms. Brittinee ask for?
A lot! The pay she gets isn’t enough to afford her the finer things in life she is accustomed to from her time working in marketing tech over in San Sequoia. While she still streams on Switch and also does pick up a writing client as a freelancer every now and again, Ms. Brittinee devised a scam to get money out of the residents at Out to Pasture. Shit, the way they won’t be around long makes it easier for Ms. Brittinee to clear her conscience.
Every week new residents seem to show up as past ones die at the home for whatever causes they came with. Many of the residents are Sims of color with a little bit of money, but those without are in for a rude awakening once their family members drop them off at the nursing home.
Currently the home can accommodate up to 7 residents as there are 3 single double bed rooms and 2 double twin bed rooms. A few sibling elders have lived at Out to Pasture without issue, but it gets a little tricky when solo elders come to live but can’t afford a single double bed room. And for those who can’t even afford that twin bed rooms, there are sleeping bags in the outdoor area—but Ms. Brittinee has lied at told families that their elders will get the chance to stargaze during elderly night events.
What’s worse is all elderly living at Out to Pasture Nursing Home are guaranteed free accommodations by the Brindleton Bay government, but Ms. Brittinee tells them they have to pay her each week from their social security deposits. She makes them get bank accounts via SNBank Newcrest where she is added on as a joint owner, and then she has them set up direct deposits of only 20% of their social security checks into their bank accounts with the remainder going into the “household funds” aka her money.
When residents are low on funds they dont get to eat meals, or have access to their rooms if they had one assigned at all. Sometimes Ms. Brittinee hires a chef to make food, but mostly she has a pay-as-you-go mini fridge available in the shared dining hall of the nursing home. But, there is a silver lining! She has a live in housekeeper who is always keeping the home and residents’ rooms clean. Plus the residents at the home get to go on activities together if they have paid their weekly scammed money to Ms. Brittinee
Some of the wonderful places Ms. Brittinee has taken the elderly residents to have been bowling in Oasis Springs, a strip club in Newcrest, a pool at a lovey resort in Oasis Springs, and a nice beach day at a public beach in Sulani. The best time many of the residents have are when they get to drink, sh0wer, and maybe nap at any of these nursing home excursions.
Don’t feel too bad for these elderly Sims at Out to Pasture! Each one has their own personality thanks to the chaos lovers in the simmerthingz community providing their elder Simself or an Elder Sim for addition to the home each time a former resident passes away. This means there is tons of hunching, romancing, arguing, and drama between the residents to keep them never the wiser of the horrible situation their families have left them in within the care of Nursing Home Director, Ms. Brittinee.
Will your elder Sim be the next one to (un)fortunately enter the home?
