Top Sims 4 CC Creators You Need to Follow
I am often asked to share my CC folder of all the things that I have from clothing to home furnishings. While that would take a lot on my end to get organized to share and precisely where, here are some of my favorite cc creators that I frequently download and use their content in my Let’s Play (LP)s. Please make sure you follow the links to the creators’ sites as they will always disclose where and how to download their CC.
Do keep in mind that you might have to pay for CC that has not been unlocked by the creator, that is up to you but I don’t feel that’s necessary with all the free CC available online.
I am an Maxis Mix Simmer, which means I play with Maxis Match and Alpha CC in my game. I also love all types of furniture so I have a mix of luxe to silly home furnishings. This list is not exhaustive, so please know I have over 40 different creators that I download CC from on the regular.
!Reminder: Always be mindful of where you are downloading CC from. I suggest downloading directly from the CC creator’s site if they have one.
Hair
Dogsill
Dogsill has great Maxis Match hairs for those who play solely with maxis match or an alpha mix. I tend to use their hairs across different age ranges with my Sims. There are really cute designs that work great for teens in my opinion. I also appreciate the detail in the hair that makes it clear EA could do better with their hairs but they just dont.
You can expect regular drops from Dogsill, but there is early access for most new hairs. You can always wait for the hairs to released if you’re not able to subscriber to the Patreon.
GegeSims
GegeSims has some of my favorite hairs for female Sims. I pretty much download everything I can from them when it comes to hair. You do have to wait for the public release of their hairs, but it’s worth it because they’ll always be usable and not limited to a trendy moment.
I play with plenty of Sims of color, especially Black Sims, so it’s important to me to use hairs that are natural styles I am used to as Black Simmer and want represented in my games. If you’re looking for hair CC that will allow you to use Black hair styles, you should definitely consider GegeSims.
Okruee
Okruee hasn’t published any new hairs on their Patreon in a long time, but there are plenty to pick from that are made available to the public. They also are a Maxis Match creator for hair, and their details always look good based on the style of hair you choose.
Some of their style reminds me of different eras in life, like the 70s for example. You could easily use this creator’s hairs for time period themed LPs or present day, modern ones.
Simpliciaty
Simpliciaty is a content creator who makes hairs as well as clothing. I tend to only go to them for hairs but you might also want to check out their clothes. As an Alpha CC creator, I find their hairs work really well with custom skins that I use and also with other alpha CC items. I rarely use their hairs on every Sim I create, but I do find my Townies who spawn LOOOOVE to wear hair from Simpliciaty. It’s likely the way their settings are for their hairs, which you can change using Sims4 Studio.
With many colors, like up to 20 some times, these hairs are fun to play around with. You’ll be able to have ombres, highlights, and more as compared to the regular styling that tends to come with EA’s base game level hairs. All of Simpliciaty’s hairs are early release, so you will need to wait for them to become public if you are not subscribed to the Patreon.
Simstrouble
Simstrouble makes some of my favorite Maxis Match hairs! They are very detailed and the colors always pop for me. I somewhat feel like the level at which their hair is designed could be misconstrued as Alpha CC, but it’s not.
Their releases are as frequent, so make sure you scroll back far to grab all of their hairs because it’s very worth it. I have enjoyed using their hairs on my teens to adult age ranges for my Sims. If you want to be able to use hairs on masculine and feminine Sims, you can do that with Simstrouble hairs!
Wingssims
wingssims is definitely another Alpha CC hair creator you should check out! I love the curlyness of the majority of their hairs. Everything feels pretty glam, luxury, and like your Sim just came from the hair salon. While I rarely focus on my male Sims, the hairs from wingssims will work with male Sims if you want to use them, plus they also create hairs for male Sims too.
I have found that sometimes a hair from wingssims will be broken and I simply remove it from my Mods folder. You will have to check based on which hairs you download from them if they happens for you. If you aren’t a paid member of The Sims Resource (TSR), you will have to wait for the download page to be accessible. But with TSR you’re able to access files in a better centralized fashion that most other sites or personal tumblrs.
sheabuttyr
sheabuttyr is hands down the best Maxis Match hair creator for Black Sims. I think that the representation of a full spectrum of natural hairstyles that show up across the Black diaspora is exactly what Black Simmers need. I have downloaded EVERYTHING from sheabuttyr and will continue to do so as they make more hairs. There are hairs for Male and Female Sims, but primarily they make hairs for Female Sims.
I think what makes sheabuttyr’s hair so amazing is the detail that you get with Black hairstyles. Unlike EA’s sad attempts, the hairs connect, baby hairs work well, and they naturally look like they’re growing out of the Sims’ scalp when on. I know many folks love Alpha CC, but give sheabuttyr a chance with your Sims.
Clothing, Jewellry, & Shoes
BlueCraving
BlueCraving has some great Maxis Match cc for those who like to stay true to form. I also love the colors that they use in their designs because they feel more real life than dusty like some other clothing out there. Most of the items I have from BlueCraving are bottoms, which tend to fit my Sims quite well regardless of the size of their body.
You can join BlueCraving’s Patreon if you don’t feel like waiting for public release, but I’ve never had a problem seeing their items and being able to download that time. I also forget to check often, so there’s that context too!
Gorilla 3x
Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla aka Gorilla 3x has some amazing Alpha CC clothing items. I particularly love their CC for men because I have so little for my Male Sims. If you keep up with your Male Sims in your gameplay, you need to get them items from this creator. Most of the items I have are outerwear or shirts for Male Sims because I always find that base game CC for Males works alright since I don’t really care to make my Male Sims that amazing.
There are normally add ons for each of the items Gorilla 3x makes so make sure you pay attention when you’re downloading the options you want. I have found these add ons in the Accessories category in CAS, which makes it easy because most CC creators don’t label their items well.
Mila Smith
Mila Smith has THAT bitch type clothing CC and I am here for it! I have pretty much all of their CC for Female Sims but they do also create for Male Sims too. This creator is very much Alpha CC. If you like high luxe, bright colors, body con, and super sexy styles this is the creator for you. Everything feels very on the noise to present day style IRL, and it also has great accessories that can pair well.
You will need to be a Patreon subscriber if you want ot get new drops as soon as they happen, but I have been happy with Mila’s older items while I wait on any public release of their latest items. You will need to deal with each item being an separate folder when you download Mila’s CC, so prepare to drag drop a lot if you like things to be in a single folder by that specific creator.
Rimings
Rimings is such a well known cc creator that I doubt I need to explain why I like their clothing. I consider their CC Alpha, but some might see it as a Maxis Mix. Regardless there is so much to pick from when it comes to Rimings. If you like glam, it’s there. If you like cutesy, it’s there. If you want soft, girlie, it’s there. I haven’t see any Male Sims CC from Rimings, so you’ll be out of luck there if that’s what you’re in search for.
This creator has a pretty clear schedule that they share on their Patreon so you’ll know exactly when new items are dropping. If you aren’t a sub to their Patreon, there are “old gift box” drops that Rimings will do and you can access those past items if you weren’t able to before.
Trillyke
Trillyke has a great mix of clothing and shoe CC. I personally like to get their shoes but occassionally I do grab an outfit from them. This is a Maxis Match CC creator and the clothing and shoes never look dull. There is so much detail put into their items and you will be happy with the full range of colors available in nearly everything they make.
What’s also great about Trillyke is that they drop collections every once and awhile, so you can get a bit more thematic with what you use for your Sims’ CAS CC.
DO Lilac
DO Lilac is another Alpha CC creator I LOVEEEEEE. I literally have nearly every single piece of clothing they have created. I have found that their items look so good on my Sims that have custom skins on, but even my non-skin Sims look great. Much of what they create is high luxe and glam, so if you do a lot of parties, galas, and more in your gameplay you will want your Sims in a custom DO Lilac.
If you a paying user of The Sims Resource (TSR) then downloading all of this creator’s items will be a breeze. But if you have the patient as a free user to wait on those timers it’s absolutely worth it!
ShakeProductions
ShakeProductions is quite honestly the best shoe CC creator I have crossed in all my time playing with CC. Everything is so beautiful and they make great shoes for both Male and Female Sims. There is such a large range of shoe type to choose from as well. The devil is in the details, and you get that with this creator.
Again, if you are a paying using on TSR you’ll be able to download all of ShakeProductions’ catalog but I promise it’s worth the wait if you have to deal with the timed download limits.
Makeup, Beauty, & Body
BadddieSims
BadddieSims is hands down the best at eyelashes in my opinion! I think every single one of my Sims who have on eyelashes are pretty much all from this CC creator. The time it takes to do eyelash CC must be tedious, so it’s much appreciate! If you’re a Alpha CC Simmer, you’ll love these eyelashes because there are so many variations without them looking identical to each other.
You can also get earrings, hair, and other accessories from BadddieSims to bring your Sims’ facial fashion and look together in a more cohesive way by using CC from the same creator.
Overkillsimmer
Overkillsimmer is my favorite CC creator for nails and is definitely up there with my favorite shoe creators. I have pretty much all of their nail CC because it’s sooooo good! I would say their style is more Alpha CC than Maxis Match. I have found that the majority of their nails work without issues in CAS. You’ll have to test that out for yourself with how you pair their nails with a given outfit, as sometimes their might be an overlay effect that happens from the nail design onto a bottom or top you have on your Sim in CAS.
If you’re looking for jewellry, shoes, and other accessories try Overkillsimmer because at least you’d have consistency across those items if you stick with the same CC creator!
PralineSims
PralineSims is literally a one-stop-shop for all of your CC needs. I primarily use them for beauty based CC—eyelashes, eyebrows, makeup, eye color, lips, skins, etc. But you can also get clothing and accessories CC from PralineSims as well! I have been loving these glasses for instance.
Because of the sheer amount of CC available from this creator, I really do suggest you decide what category of CC you need/want to download and focus on that category when you’re browsing PralineSims’ content. This way you can focus and not try to grab everything at once. And if you’re someone more focused on style and posing, PralineSims has cute CC that’s perfect for a photoshoot, like bubblegum bubbles!
THISISTHEM
THISISTHEM has some great skins for your Sims if you are into Alpha CC. With much of their work focuses on immulating IRL celebrities you could have your on let’s play with some of your favorite versions. I particularly like to use THISISTHEM for their non-celebrity look-a-like Skins. I have a lot of children and infant skins from this creator, which helps the game apply them for genetic reasoning when one of my Sims has Alpha CC and maybe their partner is Maxis Match or Mix.
You might also be interested in presets for eyes, and other elements when your build a Sim in CAS.
TwistedCat
TwistedCat is a creator that I mainly get eyelashes, baby hairs, and eyebrows from for my Maxis Mix needs. They do have other CC that they make, such as clothing, but I haven’t used that CC before. I like their Maxis Match CC because it amplifies just enough for me to not feel the need to use Alpha CC that I do have for beauty/makeup needs on every single one of my Sims.
For instance, when I want to make my Townies look good but I don’t want to put the same amount of effort as I do with my played households I likely will look for TwistedCat’s CC in CAS for those Townies. The babyhairs especially work well with other hair CC creators that I love who are also Maxis Match.
